Camping Part 2

Meet the Wassons: Vince, Gabriel, Joyce, Joseph, Michael.... and Cairn.  Since Cairn was born she's shown a preference for Michael over the other boys...  It seems to have grown into a full blown crush now.  She made an extra effort to follow him up every rock, hold his hand on the hike and laugh at all of his jokes...  Ah, 2 year old love...
To be fair to Gabriel, Cerise already likes him more than the other two.  Put Michael in front of her and she pouted and geared up to cry, but then let her see Gabriel and she started giggling immediately!

Where the boys went... and where Cairn followed.

Do we look cold yet?

And now for the reason I'm usually not in the pictures...  Look!  I have a cute pink camera!

This was one of our better camping tasdr57kd['; f g  ummm... i had to grab cerise and cairn decided to blog too... and now i'm one handed...

To make the tents warmer at night wethrew a blanket over the top.  it's amazing what that little bit of insulation did!  And then the hot cocoa in the morning was such a great hand warmer!  Thanks to Mom for instilling it in my mind that a camping trip isn't complete without the cocoa.

The hike was great.  Cairn deserves extra kudo points for making it further on her own feet and faster than Joseph who's 7 months older than her.... but then again she whined more during the trip than he... (usually when I brushed her marshmallow coated hair or made her wear her jacket or some other horrible thing mothers make their daughters endure)

For the drive home Grant tackled the dirt road, but had me take the paved, curvey, railless, steep road down the mountain.  You see... he's a guy and knows it and knew he'd be tempted to go a little fast, bordering on reckless... but I am capable of driving like one of Tucson's snowbirds... yeah, that's right!  We didn't get over 25 until the road straightened out at the bottom....

Interview with Cerise:
Mommy: Did you have fun camping?
Cerise: Aa-aahh (big smile)

M: What was your favorite part?
C: Mmmm aaahh mmmm (insert thumb in mouth)

M: Was there anything you didn't like?
C: .... (continued thumb sucking)

M: Should we go camping again?
C:.... and she's asleep...
