Spring Break... sort of

Grant's spring break and my spring break didn't correlate this year.  But we still had fun this past week with Daddy at home!

So Tangled finally got to the cheap theatre and we set Tuesday aside to go see the new hair-wielding princess.  Of course, we had to go in our royal attire:
Cerise and Cairn

Rebekah and Cairn

All three princesses.
Patti and Cammy came down for the movie too.  We all rather enjoyed it.  Oh, and all the adults (including Grant) had crowns too!

Then I took Thursday and Friday off from babysitting Rebekah so we could do our annual spring break camping trip.  We went down to the Chiricahua Mountains in southeast Arizona again and loved it again!  Those mountains are just so pretty!

This year's site was on the Western side and was much more popular than where we went last year.  But regardless of all the grass being trampled and all the firewood already gathered (I know we technically are supposed to bring our own), the site was beautiful.  There was a little running creek with tiny tumbling waterfalls both up and down river from our camp. (pictures will follow)

This trip Cairn was big enough to really start helping with the work side of camping.  She helped gather wood, clear the fire ring, pack, unpack, clean dishes, cook and countless other little chores.  Cerise loved roaming our campsite.  She must have examined every pine needle, rock and chunk of coal there... including testing the  flavors of each.

We came home thoroughly exhausted but fully refreshed.  Which was good because the girls enjoyed sleeping with me so well they refused to sleep through the night... well they still haven't since we came back.

Ahhh... spring break.
Waiting and waiting for Daddy to get in the car.

I love my family!  Note Grant's "Kneel before Zod " -- Obama shirt that he requested made.

Cerise and Cairn.. Cairn is in the tent.  She refused to open it any more than this for the picture.

Do you see the C.R.  ?  I thought it would compromise the integrity of the picture to find an S looking piece of grass and set it in there...

Reading stories, waiting for breakfast.

Cairn and the creek.  She wouldn't leave this spot for the longest time regardless of the promise of waterfalls!

This is the way to hike!
