Beautiful Sabino Canyon

Not to be out done by a Utah venture into nature, I had to put up our recent, local hike.  I thought about somehow combining the two posts and juxtaposing the pictures, but decided that would be a bit overwhelming in the least.
Our first stop off the path brought us down to this peaceful pool.  I thought it would be nice to hear what Cairn had to say about it.
Cairn’s commentary:
We were going hiking!  and feeding the fishies. And splashing in the water. We got very wet and it kept me nice and cool.  Now it keeps me warm. I loved the flowers. I loved the birds. I loved the pretty water and the pretty fishies. I loved the sticks. and I loved the flamingos at the zoo. (is this at the zoo?) no. This is going hiking and going playing.
October 4 What she didn’t say:  Daddy found a few pairs of underwear in the water.  We had to struggle to prevent Cerise from getting completely soaked as she tried to dive right into the deeper water and sit in the shallower.  Everyone giggled as we threw crumbs in for the fish because they would all turn and race to the tiny bit of food. (it looked like metal filings lined up to a magnetic field).  And most importantly, she said nothing about her bee sting when we stopped here on the way home.
And now for a few pretty hiking pictures:

We found it incredibly difficult to get far fast when the girls were out of the stroller… and not because of their little legs.  Cerise spotted our favorite desert hike treat: hackberries.  So we had to stop at every bush to get a sampling.

I think they look rather Christmas-ey in a strange, desert way.  We took several home and are presently trying to sprout some at Cairn’s request.  Surely if these grow in the wild here I can manage to grow some at home!
One of my favorite things about Sabino Canyon is this sign:October 116
Can’t you just see the damage occurring due to the bridge?!
