Picture Coming

For weeks the girls have been asking for bangs.  There's a little girl at church with bangs and for whatever reason they decided that they must have them too.

I told them that when I got the hair cutting stuff out again that they could have their hair cut and try bangs if they really wanted to still...  So it turned into a game: whether I would get sick of Gauges lengthening locks before the girls wanted to chop theirs.  They won.

I started with Cairn.  Basic straight bangs.  Done.  And she looks like a different girl.  And she's happy.

Then it was Cerise's turn...  And I learned her definition of "bangs."  When I asked if she wanted long bangs like Cairn or shorter bangs she responded "I want short bangs in front and in back."  So I corrected that bangs are just over your forehead, but she insisted that her hair be short in front and in back.

I sent her to Grant so he could dissuade her.  Backfire.  He warned that it would take time to grow her hair long again and she might not like it short, but let her stick with her choice.

So we cut Cerise's hair.  Nine inches fell to the floor.

I cried.

But she likes it and it does look cute... I guess... in a "that's not my little girl any more" kind of way.

  1. Poor Carrie. But I've got to say with Cerise's short hair she looks a bit younger than before. But Cairn is still Cairn.
