New Semester Twister

The new (and my last) semester has begun. And it hasn't been a smooth transition.

Grant's been applying for summer internships with every spare moment (last week he applied to 41). His homework load seems to me to be more stressful than last semester, but he's holding out well!

My drama has been everything Cairn. From dealing with nightmares to babysitting I've done it all. The first week of school she had a nightmare or was sick every night but one. Which meant of course that I got no sleep. And no naps come to think of it... school doesn't have nap time scheduled in for me anymore! Babysitting should be completely ironed out this week (the 3rd week of school)... well except for the fact that Cairn really doesn't like to be left with anyone and screams bloody murder when I have to drop her off.

Cairn is ever more independent. No one is allowed to put clothes on her unless she has tried and failed (for as much time as she can take) and then given express permission. And shoes are totally her domain. She can get them on and off when ever she wants.

This "I can do it" streak has made chores... interesting. Washing dishes takes three times as long and everything gets ten times as wet, but she's helping and proud of it! Now if only I can feel so satisfied with the finished result...
