Spring Break

Spring Break is officially over.  And was officially... well... fun?

It began with Grant throwing out his back.  But don't worry!  He decided he could go on the camping trip anyways! He just couldn't do any of the lifting, bending, carrying that he would normally do... which left it to the 29 week pot-bellied prego... well, and our friends that went with us (but it didn't always occur to them that little things like digging a latrine or washing dishes on the ground would be difficult for me...)

So for pictures:
We went to the Chiricahua Mountains.  Our campsite was on the north east side of the mountains, so to get there we actually had to cross into New Mexico then come back to Arizona.

Our campsite was right next to this lovely creek.

Just about 50 feet down the creek from our campsite was this waterfall.

Did you see the snow in the first picture?  Yeah, it was a tad chilly in the evenings and mornings.  Grant took this picture to show me how miserable Cairn looked.

Isn't she cute?!

We went on a few walks and one three mile hike. During these excursions Cairn had to walk most of the way (we couldn't physically carry her, remember?) and really did do a good job.  This picture was shot when we had to turn around and Cairn didn't want to.  She wanted to sit in the pile of rocks for another who knows how long (probably our fault for giving her her name).

Cairn and I walking down the road.

Cairn at our picnic spot, in a lightening struck tree.

Scott and Iris Lewis, the couple that joined us on this excursion.  Aren't they cutsie?

All in all it was a memorable trip.  We got home Wednesday and all collapsed for a nap (as soon as the gear was put away)
