Halloween and More

Mmm... Free Chipotle Burritos!

For the uninitiated, one of Chipotle's unadvertised promotions is on Halloween if you dress like a burrito you get one free. So here I am in this year's foil creation with the loot we managed to gather. We hit 3 of Tucson's 6 Chipotle restaurants before Cairn objected enough for us to go home.

I originally had foil braids too and told people I was the Swiss Miss (cocoa mug and all), but I gave them up so that Iris could get some foil wrapped goodness too. Grant dressed as a pirate with foil sword and eye-patch.

We did unfortunately fail to get a picture of Cairn dressed in her incredibly cute elephant costume... mostly because she refused to wear half of it and refused pictures when we did manage to get the ears and trunk on her for a few minutes. Kudos to Patti for making the costume... maybe next year she'll be more accepting of headgear.

We trunk-or-treated with our ward. With the first car Cairn was allowed to pick her own candy. She tried to grab the whole bucket but finally settled on one tootsie pop. Once that sweet was in her hand she turned tail and ran to hide behind our car. I caught up to her looking guilty as she gnawed through the wrapping to get the lolly pop. The rest of the night we walked from car to car to get a few more candies, but really she thought she hit the jack pot with the one sucker and was content as long as it was in her mouth. When she got down to the tootsie-roll center she gave the lolly to me and took off to play with other tykes her size.

As great as Halloween was there is more to tell since the last post!

Registration! I am registered for my last semester!!! I'll be taking the last Astronomy course required and doing some sort of research. I really don't know what it is yet since the grad student I'll be working with is out due to a bike accident (which are surprising common here) ... so more on that later.

Registration may have come and gone, but no law student even knows what classes are offered next semester yet. I expect the schedule will be up after Thanksgiving and the whole James E Roger Law School student body will be registering over Christmas break.

Oh, and for more news (most of y'all've probably heard, but to make it internet-official): I'm pregnant with number 2! Due 4 June 2010, which will make Cairn and sibling about 23 months apart. I'm already convinced it's a boy. In which case his name will likely be Elan ???? Stratton. Elan will be pronounced like Ethan with an 'l' rather than a 'th' (which is not the correct pronunciation for the word, but sounds better and has previously been used as the pronunciation for a boy name). It means enthusiastic vigor or liveliness. We already blame the chosen name on my extreme fatigue... he's obviously stealing mine for the time.
