The decorations:
We read up on Jelly Fish then decorated our own.
This was for pin the suction on the octopus. We also made little octopus out of toilet paper rolls with cheerio suctions.
We swagged blue fabric along the ceiling! And do you see our kelp bed and a fish?
These bubbles were the best. We spent two hours sorting them and making patterns before I sewed them up to streamers.
The party:
Grant here. Carrie turned into the wicked sea witch for the living pinata. The guests had to fight her off with water balloons so she would drop her sea witch candy which they could then steal from her. That's right. We taught your children to commit armed robberies. And we reinforced the lesson with candy. MWA-HA-HA! (blame Carrie, it was her idea).
Cairn caught red-handed snooping around the cake before it was time to eat it. It's hard to blame her. The thing was coated in marshmallow fondant.
More of Cairn doing the usual sniffing around the cake before it was time to eat it. We put it right at her level probably thinking to display it to all of our adult guests, though I think this picture illustrates the torture that waiting to eat your own birthday cake induces. That was (probably) accidental.
Doesn't it look delicious? (It was). All the little decorations all over were hand-made creations out of fondant. Anything that doesn't look completely professional was done by the children.
Golly... see if I ever have Grant help with the blog while I put a baby to sleep again! Above are the kids making and under the sea scene. After a while I had to forcably remove Cairn from the project. She could craft all day if I let her (and I have).
It was a fun party with fun people. And thanks to Abbie Sorg for taking most of the pictures. That being said, look forward to a quick photo dump from Cerise's party next!
Look like it was fun. Also, I like the switch off between you and Grant on the Blog it give it a little of both your personalities.
